In contact with water, the seeds of basil, arugula, watercress, flax, yellow mustard and white mustard, chia, perilla, purslane or even camelina develop a gelatinous substance: mucilage. This mucilage makes them incompatible with germination in a classic germinator, and requires the use of a germination dish. We get beautiful vertical shoots, very green and very crisp.
